Lokshakti Aviyan State president Prafulla Samantara has appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to arrange extended hospitals with equipments and doctors to see that not a single patient is deprived of getting right to health service. Samantara has sent a letter to the CM in this context.
He explained that let the people be made sufficiently aware to use mask and keep physical distance to prevent them from corona infection but not by the brute force of enforcement as both police action and fine are unbearable. “It is the Constitutional right of citizens to get proper and just treatment in this pandemic,” he mentioned. Samantara pointed out that last year the Government had initiated medical arrangements for Covid patients by opening extra hospitals. But this year, similar arrangements are nowhere to be seen. Many patients are dying without getting beds and proper treatment in hospitals.
There is a scarcity of oxygen kits, ICUs in Government hospitals including the MKCG in Brahmapur, which are responsible for more numbers of deaths. Even, there are insufficient test centres.
There are also reports in the media that due to lack of ambulances and vehicles to carry patients and dead bodies, people face a lot of difficulties.
