A 22-year-old salesman was stabbed to death on Sunday afternoon at Sant Hirdaram Shopping Complex in Bairagarh after a fight between the employees of the textile shops over customers.
During this time, an employee of one shop stabbed a young man working at another shop.
The seriously injured youth was taken to the nearby hospital where he died. After this the angry family members vandalized the shops. In view of the situation police personnel were deployed at the market.
Bairagarh TI Kanwaljit Singh Randhawa said that there are two textile shops named Shrimaya and Shubh Mangal on the ground floor of Sant Hirdaram Shopping Complex. Ankit Rajput (22), resident of Budhakheda village, worked at Shrimaya, while accused Bharat Priyani works at Shubh Mangal. There was a dispute between the two over calling customers to their shops outside the complex on Sunday afternoon. During this, Bharat attacked Ankit with a sharp weapon. Accused Bharat is absconding since the incident, search has been started for the absconding accused.
The dispute over calling customers escalated so much that Ankit Thakur, aged 26, lost his life. There was a dispute between Bharat and Ankit over calling customers, Bharat called youths from outside and attacked Ankit Thakur with a sharp edged weapon due to which Ankit Singh Rajput died on the spot.
As soon as the friends of the deceased Ankit Singh Rajput got information about the incident, they entered the shopping complex and vandalized it and were demanding closure of the shop where Bharat Piryani worked.
The CCTVs were installed in the complex where the incident took place, but they were found switched off.
After the incident, as people became aware of the incident, the market was deserted.
