Team of anti-encroachment squad was threatened by locals during removal encroachment on New Jail Road; incharge was threatened by encroachers and a case was registered by Nishatpura police.
Police said people surrounded the Municipal Corporation team that had gone to remove encroachment on New Jail Road, Bhopal. They threatened encroachment in-charge Nasir Khan for taking action. In this matter, Nishatpura police station has registered a case against Pappu Maulana and Firdous. An FIR has been registered for obstructing government work, threatening to kill and abusing.
Following the instructions of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), action is being taken to remove encroachment from 692 locations in the Green Belt area of Bhopal. Action has been taken at many locations including Asharam Bapu Square, IT Park Bairagarh, 11 Mill Bypass, Neelbad, Barkheda Nathu Road, Khajuri Bypass, Saket Nagar Sector, Banskhedi, Cancer Hospital, while on Thursday at 12 noon the Municipal Corporation team reached New Jail Road. Reached Motilal Nagar Gate.
During this time some people arrived and started protesting against the action. Seeing the siege taking place, the officers called the police.
Anti -encroachment squad in-charge Nasir Khan said that on Wednesday the encroachment of a youth named Pappu Maulana was removed from the New Jail Road area. The action continued near Motilal Nagar Gate on Thursday also.
Meanwhile, Pappu and his friend Firdous along with 25 to 30 other people came and surrounded them. He also threatened to kill him. After this information was given to Nishatpura police. Police are taking action against Pappu and Firdosh.
Nishatpura police have registered a case under sections 353, 294, 506 and 34 of the IPC. This case has been registered on the report of encroachment in-charge Khan.
