The government is consistently working to provide quality healthcare easily available to all, especially the economically weak, an official communiqué said on Wednesday.
Digendra Kumar, a resident of Dhamtari district, found the Ayushman Card to be a lifesaver for his infant daughter.
His daughter Advaita weighed only 1.3 kg at birth. Her treatment was estimated to cost around Rs. 5 lakh.
Due to his weak financial condition, Digendra could not incur such heavy medical expenses.
Using his Ayushman Card, Digendra got his daughter treated at a private children's hospital. She is now in good health.
The Ayushman scheme provides healthcare coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to a family per year in both government and private hospitals.
