In yet another incident of the deteriorating law and order situation n the capital city, unknown miscreants slit the throat and robbed money from a person at Damana on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Sibananda Barik, a businessman by profession.
According to sources, Sibananda was going to open his shop when two miscreants approached him and asked for money. As Sibananda refused, the miscreants attacked him with a sharp weapon, snatched Rs 6,000 from him and fled from the spot.
The locals rushed him to a nearby hospital. After treatment, Sibananda was discharged and sent back home.
Later, Sibananda lodged an FIR in the Chnadrasekharpur police station regarding the incident and the police have initiated a probe into the matter to nab the miscreants.
“While I was going to my shop, the looters attacked me and snatched the money from me. It was the first incident that happened here. We are in panic after the incident. I have lodged an FIR with police,” said Sabananda.
