The Palamu rape incident brings shame to the law and order system. The effigy of Hemant Sarkar was burnt by BJP Mahila Morcha at Harmu Chowk in Ranchi in protest against the case of rape of a woman by Palamu DC and SP’s drivers together. During the burning of the effigy, BJP Mahila Morcha state president Aarti Kujur said that the Hemant Soren government is celebrating the completion of four years and on the other hand, people within the government machinery are robbing the dignity of women.
Kujur said that the daughters, sisters and mothers of the state are not safe. The rape figures in last 4 years bring shame to the state. The government has completely failed to provide security to women. He said that people in the government system are committing crimes without fear.
Expressing anger over the incident of gang rape of a woman by SP-DC drivers in Palamu, Kujur said that the rapist should be given death sentence.
State General Secretary Manjulata Dubey said that on one hand the government is counting the failed achievements of the last 4 years but on the other hand, right under the nose of the Jharkhand government, it is destroying the identity of women. Sima Singh said that the people of the government departments who have become mistresses of the government have become eaters, there is no such thing as law and order. The state has turned into a jungle raj.
Ashok Badaik, Varun Sahu, Balram Singh, Neeraj Singh, Anita Burma, Manjulata Dubey, Seema Singh, Babita Burma, Maya Singh Sisodia, Dibya Sahu, Neha Sharma, Lalit Ojha, Sanjay Jaiswal, Soni Chaurasia, Sangeeta Devi, participated in the effigy burning demonstration. Hundreds of women including Aishwarya, Renuka Paswan, Namrata Soni, Vijaya Singh, Kumud Jha, Bina Mishra were present.
