An explosion at a house due to an unknown reason in the Jharpada area of the capital trigged panic among the locals on Monday night.
The impact of the mysterious blast led to the collapse of a section of the house, resulting in injuries to several persons. According to reports, the house, functioning as a commercial unit, stored various products, including deodorants.
“I suspect someone may have hurled a bomb. The room contained properties worth around Rs 31 lakh and cash of Rs 1.5 lakh. The deodorant stock was minimal when the blast occurred,” said Kabiraj Swain, owner of the house.
Body and homecare products in large quantity were damaged in the incident.
Police started investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion. A forensic team was also roped in for the probe
