PSMSU suspends strike, To meet CM today
Chandigarh: The Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU), representing over 50,000 members from 52 government departments, on Sunday decided to suspend its strike. The decision came a day before the Union delegation is scheduled to meet the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Notably, the Union had been on strike since November 8, advocating for demands such as the implementation of the old pension scheme (OPS) and the release of pending dearness allowance (DA) instalments. PSMSU president Amrik Singh Sandhu said that the decision followed discussions on Friday and an upcoming face-to-face meeting with the Chief Minister on December 18. The Union responded to an appeal, considering the proximity of the martyrdom anniversary of Chhote Sahibzade.
VP inaugurates state-level exhibition at Int’l Gita Festival
Kurukshetra: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday inaugurated the state-level exhibition organized by the Information, Public Relations, Language, and Culture Department at the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra. HP CM mourns demise of senior journalist's mother
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday expressed grief over the demise of Kamla Devi, mother of senior journalist Ashwani Sharma. She breathed her last at PGIMER, Chandigarh, on Saturday. The Chief Minister prayed for the peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathies with the bereaved family members.

12% reduction in crimes against women in 2023 in Hry
Chandigarh: Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur on Sunday said that the efforts undertaken by the State Police to prevent crimes against women are yielding positive results, leading to a 12 per cent reduction in crimes against women in the State in 2023. Compared to 2022, there has been a 30 per cent decline in robbery-related cases, an 18.33 per cent decline in snatching cases, and an eight per cent decline in serious injury-related cases in 2023, he said. Senior police officers from across the state participated in this meeting, where women's safety was discussed in detail. Kapur emphasized the need to concentrate efforts on areas where women express a sense of insecurity. He urged police officers to form teams of women within their respective districts, dedicated to visiting hotspot areas and addressing instances of harassment by unruly individuals.
Every deserving person getting benefits of scheme being run by both Centre and State Govts
Chandigarh: Haryana Transport and Higher Education Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Sunday said that in the last nine and a half years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level, and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's government in the state, every deserving is getting the benefits of the scheme being run by both the Centre and the State Governments. Sharma listened to the problems of the people during a camp organized for rectifying errors in PPP, Aadhar card, Ujjwala scheme, and pension-related activities organized under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Ballabgarh.
Cultural programs during IGM-2023 on Sunday postponed
Chandigarh: Haryana Government on Sunday announced to postpone the cultural programs scheduled to be held during the ongoing IGM-2023 in Kurukshetra on Sunday as the Union Government has declared a one-day state mourning in honour of the passing of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Haryana signs MoU with HIPSA for development and promotion of Women Kabaddi
Chandigarh: To promote the indigenous sport of Women’s Kabaddi outside India and for the development and promotion of Kabaddi, Haryana Government on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association (HIPSA). The MoU aims at promoting Women’s Kabaddi outside India, with a special focus on Pravasi Bharati Women with a desire to also have the Sport of Kabaddi included in the Summer Olympics.
