Hry CM orders immediate suspension of Secretary, Municipal Committee, Ladwa
Chandigarh: In compliance with the strict orders issued by the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding negligence of duty in context with ensuring cleanliness, Ashok Kumar, Secretary, Municipal Committee, Ladwa (Kurukshetra) and additional charge of Municipal Committee, Nissing (Karnal) has been placed under suspension with immediate effect on administrative ground. The suspension orders were issued by the Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department Vikas Gupta on Monday. Notably, during a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, District Municipal Commissioners, and Senior officers on Saturday, the Chief Minister had given strict directions that the garbage heaps should not be visible in cities, and the District Administration should ensure proper cleanliness in their areas along with timely cleaning of garbage.
MC Commissioner reviews the operations of SPCA
Chandigarh: The Municipal Commissioner ordered to maintain 24×7 roaster register for efficient execution at the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). A comprehensive review meeting of the operation of SPCA was held under the Chairpersonship of Anindita Mitra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, which was attended by other members of the society and concerned officers of Chandigarh Administration and MCC. Focusing on the operations of the SPCA, a proposal was discussed in detail to establish a 24x7 roster for efficient execution at the SPCA. Additionally, it was also decided to organize a collaborative site visit to assess and address essential aspects such as building infrastructure, electrical systems, and underground sewage.
MCC dedicates two aspirational public conveniences to city
Chandigarh: To provide clean and inclusive sanitation facilities in the city, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has dedicated two state-of-the-art aspirational public conveniences in Sector 16 D and Sector 33 A on Monday. City Mayor Anup Gupta and Commissioner Anindita Mitra on Monday inaugurated these public conveniences in the presence of Saurabh Joshi and Anju Katyal, respective area councilors, underscoring the MC's commitment to improving public infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of its citizens. These conveniences are part of the city's ongoing Clean Toilets Campaign.
