Tribals celebrated in Chhattisgarh to welcome the elevation of BJP's tribal leader Vishnu Deo Sai as the next chief minister of the state.
People in his home turf Jashpur said Sai had always been helpful to the tribal people. The entire tribal community was overjoyed about his appointment as Chief Minister.
There was hope that his taking charge of Chhattisgarh will lead social upliftment and development of all sections of the society including tribals, they said.
Many women in Jashpur celebrated with Sai’s wife, Kaushalya Devi Sai, by performing traditional folk dances.
Tribal leader and MLA elect from Kanker, Asharam Netam, said: “There has been a decade-old demand to elect a Chief Minister from the tribal community. This is a matter of pride for the entire state.
“Sai has a clean image and positive thinking. Now welfare schemes will be implemented with full promptness in Chhattisgarh and all sections of society will benefit,” he said. Sai will be sworn-in along with his ministers in Raipur on Wednesday.
