CM mourns freedom fighter’s demise

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday expressed deep grief over the demise of freedom fighter Mangobind Mallick, who passed away at the age of 103 years at his native village Haladibasant under Derabish block in Kendrapada district on Saturday.

Patnaik said Mallick, who had a reputation for the social development of Kendrapada, had been inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. He was imprisoned several times during the independence struggle.

The Chief Minister also expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family.
