Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed a spectacular ceremonial parade organised to mark the foundation day of Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) on Monday. Appreciating the march past, the CM said that the volunteers of PRD are working with dedication to bring positive changes in the society. He said that PRD is doing praiseworthy work in disaster management, social security and traffic management. He said that the State government has taken many measures for the welfare of PRD volunteers. The government has issued an order for registration of the dependents of the PRD volunteers who have died and a total of 116 dependents have been registered so far. Jobs to 70 dependents have already been given that includes 25 women.
The CM announced that one woolen uniform and one general uniform will be provided to every volunteer after every two years of service. He said that the allowance for the uniform provided to PRD volunteers for training has been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. The CM said that the PRD volunteers will also get a laundry allowance of Rs 200 per month. He said that the allowance of the PRD personnel deployed at block and Nyay Panchayat level will be increased from Rs 600 and Rs 300 per month to Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 respectively.
The CM said that the amended regulation of PRD welfare fund was formulated in the year 2023 according to which the compensation amount in case of death while doing duty during communal violence has been increased from Rs one lakh to Rs two lakh. The compensation death in duty in sensitive area has also been increased from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh.
The CM said that excellent work was done by the PRD volunteers during Covid-19 pandemic and the State government had given Rs 6000 to 4651 volunteer as a token of appreciation during pandemic period.
The sports and youth welfare minister Rekha Arya said that the foundation day of the PRD has been organised with fanfare for the last two years. She said that the government has provided many facilities to the PRD personnel. The minister added that the force has played a vital role in Char Dham Yatra duty, Kanwad and during disasters.
The Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, the special principal secretary Sports and youth welfare Amit Sinha, director youth welfare Jitendra Sonekar and others were present on the occasion.
