Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Sunday, will start the Pulse Polio Campaign by administering polio drops to children at Dufferin Hospital in Lucknow.
The chief minister has directed officials to make sure that every eligible child gets the polio drop.
The campaign will be launched in every district of the state in which children up to the age of 5 years will be administered polio drops. Under this campaign, as many as 3.40 crore children will be given polio drops.
The Pulse Polio campaign will be launched from Sunday and it will be held in adherence to COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.
Dr Rakesh Dubey, DG Family Welfare, said, "There are 1.10 lakh of polio booths in the state. Also, 69 teams have been formed and they will visit every house in the state to administer the polio drops to children."
It may be mentioned here that there are 3,30,000 vaccinators in the state. To make sure that the polio campaign runs successfully, a total of 23,000 supervisors, 6,500 transit teams, and 1,700 mobile teams have been formed.
