Saturday, 30 December 2023 | Staff Reporter | RAIGARH

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on Friday that his government was especially committed to the development of special backward tribes.

“The Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana is being run for the proper development of the country's most backward special tribes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives this his undivided attention."

He said this at a programme in which he took ground-level assessment of the works done under the Janman Yojana in Raigarh district.

At the event, Sai held a dialogue with members of the Birhor tribe.

He also distributed Ujjwala gas connections as well as Aadhaar, ration, MNREGA job and Ayushman cards to them.

The Birhors are called the adopted sons of the President. Their population is only around 1,100 in Raigarh district.

Under the Janman Yojana, 11 schemes are being implemented through nine central ministries for the all-round development of vulnerable tribal groups.
