The members of the Shree Jagannath Sanskruti Surakhya Abiyan gathered at Courtpeta junction, voicing concerns over perceived dangers facing the cherished traditions of Shree Jagannath.
The protest was fuelled by growing apprehensions within the group that recent actions, purportedly supported by certain Governmental elements and external influencers, pose a significant risk to the timeless cultural legacy associated with Shree Jagannath.
Notably, the involvement of a blogger named Kamiya Jani who was taken to the Jagannath Temple for highlighting the Mahaprasad who is allegedly a beef eater has sent shockwave among lakhs of devotees.
Adding to the concerns were comments by BJD politician of Tamil Nadu hinting at reforms in the age-old customs and proposals to open the temple gates on the English calendar New Year, triggering worry among the demonstrators about potential alterations to the core traditions linked with Shree Jagannath.
The protest sought to raise awareness and drew attention to what they perceive as imminent threats to the sanctity of Shree Jagannath's revered traditions.
They called for unity and support from all quarters, emphasizing the need to protect and preserve the customs.
The protest saw active participation from notable figures like Bijay Kumar Samal, Kedar Patra, Ramakanth Rath, Rajeev Khadanga, Dharmendra Dora, Tutun Patro, Ananta Maharana, Gautam Maharana, Subash Sahu, besides numerous other passionate devotees of Shree Jagannath, all united in their endeavour to preserve the sanctity and soul of Shree Jagannath culture.
