A furore marred the second day of the Chhattisgarh winter Aassembly session on Wednesday over a farmer’s suicide. The Congress raised the issue during the Governor’s address claiming it says nothing about the suicide by the farmer and steps to be taken to stop such incidents.
The suicide happened just after the new BJP government took office, Congress members said. The promise of two year’s paddy bonus was also raised by the Congress. The Congress members tried to disrupt the proceedings, but the Governor continued his speech and completed it. Amid chaos, the House was adjourned for the day after the Governor's address.
