Crime branch team arrested a drug peddler and seized 8 kg Cannabis worth Rs 80000 along with two accused who were carrying ganja from Orissa and scheduled to deliver it in Bhopal.
Acting on a tip off regarding two boys standing in Jamboree ground in Piplani Bhopal with a white plastic bag. Both of them are carrying illegal drugs.
Police team reached the spot and detained the two suspects who were identified as Abhisek Ahirwar and Rinku Prajapati Mandideep.
After checking their belongings a bag containing two packets wrapped with tape was found.
After searching the suspect Rinku Prajapati, a plastic bag was kept in his right hand. A total of 8 kg of drugs were seized from both the accused, a crime was registered against them and the accused was presented in the court.
Police have registered a case under section 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act and started further investigation.
The source from where the accused brings the drug and where does he dispose is under investigation. The accused used to find the retail customers by bringing drugs at cheap prices and selling it in small quantities in Bhopal and nearby areas.
The crime record of the accused is under investigation.
The police are continuously conducting operations to catch illegal drug traffickers in the city and based on information regarding the drug peddlers police immediately took action on the information received.
The details of the local aides and connection network in Odisha would be investigated in the further investigation, said police.
