Tuesday, 31 October 2023 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Delhi Congress on Monday claimed here the anti-people and anti-poor policies of the ruling BJP at centre had led to price rise and unemployment thereby causing hardships for the common citizens.

Delhi Congress has also staged a rally to highlight these issues as part of its 'Pratigya Rally' under the party's "Jawab Do-Hissab Do" campaign at Sanjay Chowk, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Mustafabad in the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency. This was the third rally organized by the Delhi Congress to rejuvenate party workers.

Mustafabad constituency having a large number minority community, was considered a stronghold the Congress before 2014, which is now AAP stronghold. Pratigya Rally, organised at Bawana and Tilak Nagar recently, were trend-setters and attracted a large number of people to the Congress, particularly after Lovely took over as the DPCC president, Congress claimed.

Addressing the rally, Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh Lovely said people's anger and disillusionment will be fully reflected in the 2024 parliamentary elections, with the unemployed youth and the common people waiting for a chance to vent their anger against the BJP for not fulfilling any of its promises.

BJP and AAP leaders and workers were making a beeline to join the Congress, and many have already returned to the party fold while many others were in the queue to join Congress.

Among those who addressed the rally were Arvinder Singh Lovely, Jai Prakash Agarwal, Subhash Chopra, former Delhi Ministers/senior leaders Haroon Yusuf and Jai Karan Choudhary.

Lovely started his journey to the rally venue from the Shastri Park Metro Station, where a large number of Congress workers and local residents accorded him an enthusiastic welcome, and they took him in a procession to a long distance.
