Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday flagged off three 'Skill on Wheel' buses of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at Goshala in Sambalpur district.
These buses would operate in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts.
Pradhan emphasised the importance of skill development for youths, especially considering the evolving needs of the world and said the buses, launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, would travel to various gram panchayats in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal, offering training to empower youths and help them become self-reliant.
Pradhan said, “The buses equipped with modern tools will benefit the youths. It will empower the rural youths, especially girls and women, by providing them digital skill training.”
“The Skill on Wheel initiative aims to provide digital skill training, making information accessible to youths. Training will also be provided at different colleges through the buses. It will serve as a platform for digital literacy, financial literacy and entrepreneurship," added he.
Pradhan also expressed confidence in expanding such buses to villages in the future.
