The State government has formed a drafting committee headed by the additional chief secretary Radha Raturi for detailed examination of the report submitted by the land laws committee. An office memo by additional secretary Anand Srivastava states that the drafting committee will examine in detail the report of the land laws committee formed for studying and examining the amendments made from time to time in the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act 1950). Raturi will head the drafting committee which will have principal secretary, Legal, Revenue secretary, General Administration secretary and additional secretary to the CM, Jagdish Kandpal as members. The drafting committee will be authorised to invited experts.officials as required for subject specific recommendations. It should be noted that the formation of the drafting committee comes ahead of a mass rally slated to be held in Dehradun on December 24 seeking 1950 as the domicile cut off date and strict land laws in the State.
