Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that for the personality development of students, the type of education should be in accordance with the ideals of our soil. This can instill the feeling of patriotism among the youth. Students should follow the convocation oath throughout their life and respect their parents and teachers. Patel was addressing the convocation ceremony of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal today. The convocation ceremony was organised at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre, Bhopal.
Governor Mangubhai Patel paid tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary. He urged the attending students to emulate Atal Ji by raising the banner of Hindi worldwide, thereby bringing honour to the university. The contribution of late Atal ji in propagating and popularizing Hindi is historic and exemplary. He will always be remembered as a great Hindi lover, a poet at heart and an eloquent orator. Patel also narrated an incident from his life related to Late Atal ji.
Governor Mangubhai Patel said the University has made commendable efforts in raising awareness about sickle cell anaemia. It is commendable that the University has made the knowledge and science of various disciplines related to the Indian knowledge tradition a part of the curriculum. He said that the National Education Policy has provided an opportunity for bondage-free education to the young generation by bringing together both modern and traditional knowledge of Indian culture. He said that education is not just a process of teaching, but a medium to accept, face the challenges of life and set future goals.
Educational institutions should prepare such a young generation which is world class in employability skills along with overall personality development and is exceptional and cultured from character point of view.
Governor Patel said that every youth of the country can become the cause for the progress of India. The youth can contribute to nation building while achieving their dreams. All of you take a pledge to make India a developed India by 2047 with your knowledge, skills, character and capabilities. The journey till convocation has been possible through hard work, from here one can reach new heights and bring glory to the country, state and family.
Governor Mangubhai Patel spoke to the degree-awarded students and youth regarding the resolution of Developed India @2047. On this occasion, Patel listened to the resolutions, suggestions, ideas and goals of the students regarding making India developed. The students also received guidance from Governor Patel about Developed India @2047.
Governor Patel opened the programme by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, he garlanded the Saraswati statue and the photograph of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Patel was greeted with a shawl, shrifal and a memento. He released the souvenirs, research magazine and publications of the university. In the convocation ceremony, degrees were awarded to 170 students and medals were awarded to those students who obtained the highest marks.
The welcome address and annual report was presented by Vice Chancellor Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Khem Singh Dahria. He administered the convocation oath to the initiated students. The guest director of the function, IIITDM Bhartendu Kumar delivered the convocation address. Registrar Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Satendra Kumar Jain proposed vote of thanks. On this occasion, members of various assemblies of the university, teachers, initiated students and their families were present.
