A three-day Electric Vehicle Technology Expo '19th EV EXPO 2023' showcasing an array of latest and technologically advanced, pollution-free 2, 3 and 4 wheeled e-vehicles, parts and accessories, charging solutions and technology from around 218 national and international companies concluded here with an enthusiastic response from visitors and participants.
The 3-day event which was inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways. He was upbeat about the future of the EV Sector and said that the segment will have one crore annual sales and generate 5 crore Jobs by 2030.
His statement hinges on the huge demand for small battery-operated electric vehicles in the market. Officials said that India has the potential to become an exporter of these variants of EVs.
As per the Vahan database, 34.54 lakh e-vehicles are already registered in India. An estimated Rs 20 lakh Crore investment is needed in India for the EV ecosystem until 2030. This is a big opportunity for OEMs, component and battery manufacturers and charging part operators, the officials said.
