After getting a direction from District Education Officer (DEO), Sundargarh, the Block Education Officer (BEO), Kuanrmunda has lodged FIR on Saturday against two woman teachers of a Government school, for submitting fake OTET certificate.
The DEO Sundargarh office reportedly received an information from one RTI activist during month of June, where in Board of Secondary Education, Odisha(BSEO) in its reply to a query informed that two teachers of Sundargarh district had not qualified OTET(Odisha Teacher Education Test). The teachers were identified as Pragyan Paramita Swain, Assistant Teacher, and Sandhyarani Pallauri, a Gana Shikshak. Both are working in Kumjharia Upgraded High School. After getting allegations, the DEO Sundargarh directed a fresh verification of OTET certificates of all teachers of district, suspecting more teachers might have produced fake OTET certificate. Sources said, the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Odisha, during the month of August, had also written to DEO, Sundargarh and BEO, Kuanrmunda, for verification of OTET certificate of the two accused teachers and also to reexamine their appointment process.
The Joint Director had also directed to lodge FIR against duo if their certificates are found to be fake.
