As we welcome New Year 2024, some new rules come into effect as it's the first day of the month. As year progress, State particularly capital will witness launch and inauguration of several new projects.
The people of Ranchi will get three flyovers this year. Three flyovers are being constructed simultaneously in the capital city of Jharkhand. The construction of the flyovers will largely alleviate the issues of traffic jams in the city and provide pace to the city as well.
The long-delayed Kantatoli flyover, being constructed by Jharkhand urban infrastructure development corporation (Juidco), in Ranchi is now gaining momentum. The work on the flyover from Sirmatoli Chowk to Doranda Rajendra Chowk started a year back, but it is also gaining momentum. The work of Ratu Road flyover has also progressed. Engineers involved in the construction of the flyover would complete by 2024.
Also, Ranchi, India will host the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers from January 13–19, 2024. The tournament will take place at the Morabadi Astroturf Hockey Stadium and will feature eight women's teams. The teams include:
Germany, India, New Zealand, Japan, Chile, United States, Italy, Czech Republic.
The teams will compete for a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Indian Women's Hockey Team Chief Coach, Janneke Schopman, said the tournament is an important part of their journey to the 2024 Olympics.
The Qualifiers will be held at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand from 13th to 19th January 2024. Apart from India, seven national teams from across the globe will travel to Ranchi for the Women’s FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in their bid to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The nations that will finish in the top three will confirm their berth in the next year’s Olympics.
In higher education too there is lot in store. In this context, the coming into existence of seven new universities in 2024 will pave the way for improvement in higher education. Under this, while four existing colleges will be upgraded as universities, three new universities will also be opened.
In the year 2024, Deoghar College-Deoghar, Jamshedpur Co-operative College-Jamshedpur, Ranchi Women's College-Ranchi and KO College-Gumla will be upgraded as universities. Also, Sir JC Bose University will be established in Giridih.
There was a plan to develop Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University as Advanced Research Center of Physical and Natural Sciences and Vinoba Bhave University as Center of Excellence for Cyber Security.
National Education Policy As per the education policy, universities and empaneled colleges are to be upgraded into multidisciplinary institutions and their infrastructure is to be developed as state of the art. It can be expected that this year there will be rapid progress in this direction. According to the National National Education Policy, the gross enrollment ratio is to be 50% by the year 2035.
In new year there will route plans for e-rickshaw. In Ranchi, 4500 e-rickshaws are registered, route permits are issued for 1400, apart from this, e-rickshaws are operated without permits on all the main roads as well as bylanes. Therefore, it is necessary that route passes be issued to the drivers by deciding the necessary routes for all the e-rickshaws so that the traffic system can be strengthened and organized. It was told in the meeting by the District Transport Officer that at present about 4500 rickshaws are registered, while route permit has been issued for only 1400.
Apart from this, most of the e-rickshaws are running in a disorganized manner. Keeping in view the need to re-determine routes for these, 131 routes have been identified by the Corporation. On which the Administrator said that in the first phase, instead of deciding the route at 'micro level', the route should be decided as per 'Super Zone'.
Ranchi District Bar Association will also have new office bearers this year. The biennial elections (2024 -2026) of Anchi District Bar Association will be held on January 20 from 10 am to 5 pm. There will also be elections for only 9 executive members. Whose nomination fee has been kept at Rs 2000. A fee of Rs 5000 has been kept for nomination of President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurer. Whereas a fee of Rs 4000 has been kept for Co-Treasurer, Joint Secretary Administration, Joint Secretary Library. The cost of nomination form has been kept at Rs 150. Sanjay Vidrohi said that candidates will receive nomination papers from January 3 to January 8, 2024 and they will be able to file their nomination papers from January 4 to January 8. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on January 9, candidates will be able to withdraw their names till January 10.
The final list of candidates will be released on January 10 only. After voting on January 20, counting of votes will begin at 11:30 am on January 21. First of all, there will be one counting of votes for 7 posts of executive officer. The counting of votes for the election of executive members will take place one day after the counting of the executive officers is over.
