Govt against backward classes; wants to keep them devoid of quota: BJP

Sunday, 07 January 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP State General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu today made a big target on the state government. Sahu said that the Hemant government is an anti-backward government. The character of ‘thugbandhan’ of Congress, JMM and RJD is anti-backward.

He said that the Congress Party did not give constitutional status to the Backward Classes Commission for years. This included their anti-backward mentality. These are parties with family-oriented thinking, hence they are not concerned about the welfare of the backward society.

He said that in Jharkhand, the government which pretended to give 27 per cent reservation to the backward classes, robbed the rights of the backward classes in the Panchayat elections. Further, this government also intends to conduct civic elections without giving reservation to the backward classes.

He said why Hemant government is not conducting triple test despite the instructions of the Supreme Court. He said that on one hand this government pretends to give 27 per cent reservation, on the other hand it also wants to snatch the reservation received.

Sahu said what has happened till now to the proposal passed by the cabinet of Hemant government in which the proposal of triple test from the Backward Classes Commission was passed. But the truth is that till date this government has not been able to appoint the Chairman of the Backward Classes Commission.

He said that the backward society of the state has understood their anti-backward mentality.

Sahu said that the backward class has faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi gave constitutional status to the Backward Classes Commission, increased the seats in medical colleges. Today the Modi cabinet includes most of the ministers from backward communities.
