The Jajpur district administration has announced closure of all Government offices for citizens in view of the rising Covid-19 cases.
A decision in this regard was taken after a senior official of the administration tested positive for the virus. The restriction will remain in force till the midnight of July 8.
“No public individually or in groups shall visit the public offices throughout Jajpur district till 08.07.2020 midnight. However, the public offices will function by adopting the social distancing measures, use of masks and other Covid-19 guidelines,” an official order of the district administration said.
“It is observed that after partial relaxation of lockdown norms, a large number of people are coming to the Collectorate and other Government offices located at district headquarters in connection with various works and grievances which are not emergent in nature,” it said.
In case of urgency, people may contact the head of an office through telephone, WhatsApp and e-mail. The concerned officer would decide the nature of urgency of the work and act upon accordingly, the official order added.
Notably, the Ganjam district administration had earlier taken a similar step to check the spread of Covid-19.
