BJP MLA and former Delhi state unit president Vijendra Gupta met Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to discuss the urgent implementation of a recent Supreme Court Judicial Committee’s order. The judgment mandates the de-sealing of properties in various areas of Delhi, including Defence Colony, South Extension-1, GK-1, Hauz Khas, and others, which were sealed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for violating building bylaws.
During his meeting, Gupta emphasized the prolonged distress and hardship faced by hundreds of property owners due to the sealing of the first and second floors of several local shopping complexes. “The recent decision by the judicial committee offers significant relief to those affected, marking a vital turn in their extensive struggle for justice,” he said.
Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Gupta has urged the LG to ensure swift and unconditional implementation of the Supreme Court’s directives. He called for the MCD to fully comply with the order, ensuring immediate and effective action in de-sealing the affected properties.
“The meeting with the LG is a crucial step towards restoring the faith of Delhi’s citizens in our justice and administrative systems,” stated MLA Gupta in his letter to the LG. He added, “It is essential that we act quickly to uphold the rule of law and alleviate the difficulties faced by our citizens.”
Gupta further emphasised that the implementation of this directive is not only a legal obligation but also a moral imperative to support the citizens’ rights and well-being.
