Kisan Samagam (Agriculture Fair cum Training Programme) is being organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 1 January 2024 in Kharsawan (Jharkhand). Jharkhand Governor Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan and Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda will be the chief guest on the occasion. More than 100 stalls will be set up in the fair by government departments, private institutions, startups etc. related to agriculture and allied sectors, which will be informative and inspirational for thousands of farmers as well as other people associated with the farming sector.

It has been the intention of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make the areas related to farming more advanced and profitable. In this sequence, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has organized the institutions of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Seed Corporation. This massive event is being organized at Gondpur Maidan, Kharsawan, Jharkhand in collaboration with Birsa Agricultural University, IFFCO, National Horticulture Board, Atari (Patna) and various institutions of the state government. It aims to showcase various aspects of agricultural process and products, latest agri-machinery, agro-inputs and other aspects of farmer-friendly practices. Also, the fair is a platform for agricultural scientists, experts, extension workers, policy makers and agricultural officers to share their experiences with the farmer brothers and sisters.

Participation of Krishi Vigyan Kendras working in different districts of Jharkhand has also been ensured in the fair. Thousands of farmers of the state will participate in the fair and public representatives will also be present. Keeping in mind the developed India, arrangements have also been made to provide information about the beneficial schemes run by the Government of India for the development and upliftment of farmers in the fair. During the fair, farmers will also be given information regarding natural farming, use of drones in agriculture and developing agriculture as an enterprise and other related matters.
