On the occasion of the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, a one-day health camp was organised under the aegis of Netherlands Leprosy Relief and District Leprosy Prevention Committee at Asha Dan Leprosy Ashram, Bokaro here on Monday.
On this occasion, the health checkup of all the leprosy affected family members living in the leprosy ashram was done and after the checkup, medical advice, medicine, Baisakhi, self care kit etc. were distributed.
NLR organised a quiz competition among the children of leprosy colony and the children were rewarded, the first prize was given to Purnima Kumari, the second prize was given to Sharda Kumari.
On the other hand, on the occasion of the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, wreaths were placed on the picture of Mahatma Gandhi in the auditorium of the Civil Surgeon Office and Anti-Leprosy Day was celebrated in the memory of Bapu. It was told in the programme that the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was very sympathetic towards leprosy and he served many leprosy patients with his own hands and removed the misconceptions spread in the society.
Meanwhile on the occasion, the oath was administered by Dr. HK Mishra, in-charge civil surgeon.
On the above occasion Dr. NP Singh, District Leprosy Prevention Officer Dr. Selina Tudu, Deputy Superintendent Sadar Hospital Dr. BP Gupta, Hospital Manager Mr. Pawan Srivastava and Kashinath Chakraborty NLR Dr. Neelkant Mohammad Sajjad Alam, District Leprosy Counselor Bhuneshwar Mahato, Rakesh Mishra, Ramesh Kumar, Madhusudan Tiwari, Ajay Kumar Mahato etc. played their important role in the health camp.
