Under the direction of Dhar Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh, Dhar Police took major action against illegal liquor transportation.
While taking action, the Naugaon police team arrested two accused who were transporting illegal liquor worth Rs 1 crore 3 lakh in two Eicher vehicles.
Total 600 boxes of illegal English liquor totaling 2520 bulk liters worth approximately Rs 1,03,00,000 and both eichers worth Rs 20,00,000 and total goods worth Rs 1,23,00,000 were seized from the possession of the accused.
Inspector General of Police, Indore (Rural) Range Rakesh Gupta was specifically directed to Superintendent of Police Dhar Manoj Kumar Singh to take action against the purchase/sale and transportation of illegal liquor.
In line with this, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Dhar, Manoj Kumar Singh and under ASP Superintendent Dhar Inderjit Bakalwar, necessary directions were given to City Superintendent of Police, Dhar, Ravindra Vaskle and Police Station Incharge, Naugaon Inspector, Savita Chaudhary, to take appropriate action.
In the same sequence, on 28.12.2023, the team of Police Station Naugaon received information from the informer that two Eicher vehicles filled with expensive foreign liquor were to go on their fixed route - Bhiwandi from Thane Maharashtra to Pali Sirahi district of Rajasthan via Indore, but the permit was not available. Violating the traffic rules, instead of going to Rajasthan, it is going towards Gujarat via Dhar, on which Naugaon Police checked the vehicles going towards Gujarat on lebad Fata Indore-Ahmedabad Highway, in which a Eicher number UP-83-AT- 7567 anothet Eicher number GJ-33-T-1583 was stopped, both the vehicles were stopped and checked, 200 boxes of English expensive liquor were recovered from one Eicher vehicle and 400 boxes of English expensive liquor were found from the other Eicher vehicle. 600 boxes, each box contains 6 bottles of cool 3600 bottles of "GLENLIVET Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, the total quantity is 2520 bulk litres, in which the price of one bottle of English liquor is around Rs 4500 as per the market price.
The cost of Cool Liquor is around one crore, three lakh rupees and both Eicher worth Rs 20 lakh was seized and both Eicher drivers Mohammad Javed, son of Mohammad Jamil, resident of Agra (Uttar Pradesh) and Meghraj Patel, son of Bhagwanji Patel, resident of Kantonwada, Udaipur, Rajasthan, were arrested under crime number 542/2023 section 34(2)46. A crime was registered under the Excise Act and taken up for investigation.
