Senior HC lawyer’s birthday celebrated
Cuttack: The birthday of senior High Court advocate and Odisha Development Watch (ODW) president Srinivas Mohanty was observed in his office here on Monday in the presence of lawyers, social activists and friends. He narrated how he always finds time to help social organisations and anti-corruption RTI and PIL activists. ODW convener and journalist Lalit Mishra congratulated him for his pro-poor attitude. Mohanty declared that the ODW would hold meetings in different districts this year to reward innovative farmers, teachers and businessmen and recognise young social-minded lawyers.
DGP inaugurates new PS buildings in Ganjam
Brahmapur: DGP Abhay on Monday inaugurated new buildings of the Rambha and Gosani Nuagoan police stations besides a new building of the Bhanja Vihar police outpost. The new Gosaninua Nuagaon PS building under the Brahmapur police district is one of the biggest structures in Ganjam district. Brahmapur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda, DIG of Police (Southern Range) Satya Brata Bhoi and Brahmapur SP Pinak were present.
Cycle rally held at J'suguda on Sports Day
Jharsuguda: The National Sports Day was observed at Jharsuguda with a cycle rally held by Marwari Yuva Manch and inaugurated by Health Minister Naba Kisore Das. Das said health is wealth which is vital for keeping body healthy and fit. Hence, all should adopt sports activities in daily lifestyle. Das expressed gratefulness for organising cycle rally and other welfare projects for Jharsuguda residents by Marwari Yuva Manch.
J'pore Marwari Manch holds cyclothon
Jeypore: On the National Sports Day, the Marwari Yuva Manch, Jeypore, organised a cyclothon with a theme, "The value of sports and physical fitness among youths”. Athlete coach Niranjan Panigrahi and Debasish Mohanty flagged off the cyclothon from Rajanaghar palace which later ended at Sri Agrasen Bhawan. A total of 70 participants joined the cyclothon while Jeypore SDPO Arup Abhishek Behera, Town police station IIC Sanjay Mandal and Additional IIC Ragunath Majhi among others were present. The cyclothon was organised by Manch president Mayank Agrawal and secretary Barun Jain.
Sunil Satya receives Greentech Leading Dir Award
Bhubaneswar: Sunil Kumar Satya, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region 2) NTPC received Greentech Leading Director Award 2021 from Dr Farooq Abdullah, MP (Lok Sabha) and former J&K Chief Minister, at Sonmarg (J&K) on August 27. This award has been conferred to Satya in recognition of his outstanding achievements in driving growth of the organisation through innovation and excellence.
