Book on on Khordha history inaugurated
Khordha: ‘Khordha Itihasara Aantudishala: Barunei’, a new book written by historian Satyabadi Baliarsingh, was inaugurated on the author’s 73rd birthday. Organised by the Kalinga Paika Sangathana and Trinath Charan Smruti Kala Sansad at Gayatri Saktipitha in Khordha town, the event was attended by eminent persons like educationist Bhimsen Pradhan, poet Rajkishore Panigrahi, Er Shishir Kumar Nayak, Prof Gopal Krishna Das, Dr Narayan Rao, journalist Bijay Mahanty, columnist Bijay Das, Bhagirathi Rautray, Dr Sarachandra Mahapatra and Sailabala Baliarsingh. Educationist Dhaneswar Prusty was felicitated on the occasion. Krushna Chandra Harichandan, Itishree Sahu, Samarendra Baliarsingh coordinated the event.
BBSR blood donation camp: 34 units collected
Bhubaneswar: A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by the Swosti Institute of Management and Social Studies in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, Regional Branch and Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar -Cuttack at Infocity area here. ACP-cum-joint secretary Lalitendu Mohanty inaugurated the camp while Assima Panda (Principal) and Chinmay Ranjan Mohanty (Programme Officer) coordinated. 34 units of blood were collected with aid from the BMC blood bank, Bhubaneswar.
Khariar College students make sanitiser
Nuapada: Students of the chemistry department of Khariar Autonomous College have prepared a sanitiser for cleaning of hands. "The students prepared the sanitiser by mixing ingredients like ethel alcohol, glicerin, aloevera gel, pudina, tulsi, nim leaf and essence," said Dr Tarun Pradhan, Professor of Chemistry. "WHO guidelines for the preparation were strictly followed," he added. College Principal Anupama Padhi, other professors as well as Rajalaxmi Ratha, Debankita Meher, Nibedita Barik, Tankadhar Behera and Bikash Naik etc were present.
