The pinnacle of New Year's eve festivities unfolded at Beldih Club, where a mesmerizing troupe captivated the audience with dazzling performances. Revelers danced into the late hours to welcome the New Year, while hotels such as Hotel Cruz and The Sonnet hosted special dinners for their patrons.

The city resonated with the beats of Bollywood tunes as people partied in hotels across all categories. Housing complexes in Sonari and Kadma joined in the celebration, organizing functions to ring in the new year with flair.

Parks became popular destinations for New Year picnics, with Tata Steel Zoological Park, Jubilee Park Dimna Lake, and Hudco dam witnessing a massive influx of visitors. Meanwhile, hotels and clubs hosted lively celebrations that continued well into the early morning hours.

Expressing gratitude, the Zoological Park management thanked picnickers for peacefully celebrating the first day of the year and supporting the zoo authorities.

Social worker Ramesh Prasad, addressing the gathering at Jubilee Park, urged reflection on both achievements and failures, emphasizing the importance of striving for improvement in the coming year. He advocated incorporating songs, folk dances, and choreography highlighting social issues into celebrations, addressing concerns like drug addiction, illiteracy, and female foeticide.

Religious places, including gurudwaras and churches, drew large congregations as people gathered for special prayers marking the beginning of 2024.

On Monday, T V Narendran, CEO and managing director of Tata Steel, is set to cut the New Year cake at the Centre for Excellence, extending a warm welcome to 2024.
