Law and order on the verge of collapse in Capital city: MP

Friday, 05 January 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth today strongly condemned the murder of Abhishek Srivastava, a resident of Asthapuram in Ratu police station area, by unknown criminals in broad daylight. He said that the law and order situation in the capital city is about to collapse. Therefore, a demand has been made from the Governor to intervene. Seth appealed to the Governor and said that the state government has failed to maintain law and order. The Governor needs to take cognisance of this and give appropriate guidelines. The law and order situation is the worst in the last 30 years. Ranchi has become a heaven for criminals.

“The criminals are fearlessly committing crimes in broad daylight. The administration and government are sitting idly. If the situation here is like this where all the top officials including the Chief Minister reside, then what will be the condition of the state? Incidents of murder, theft and rape are happening every day. The government and administration are bowing down before the criminals. For how long will people continue to die, the government will have to answer this. After all, what is the reason that the administration is helpless in front of criminals? The poor law and order situation in the capital is tarnishing the image of the state. Businessmen and common people are forced to live in fear,” he said.

Notably, a coal businessman was shot by unknown criminals in Ratu police station area, in which he was seriously injured. From there he was immediately taken to Medica Hospital, where he died. The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Srivastava. Ratu police station in-charge said that as soon as information about the incident was received, the injured person was admitted to Medica Hospital but he could not be saved.

Police is busy identifying the criminals. Abhishek Srivastava is a resident of Asthapuram of Ratu police station area. According to eyewitnesses, five criminals who came in an SUV shot Abhishek Srivastava. Sources revealed that Abhishek Srivastava had also received threats from the PLFI organization in the past. It is suspected that PLFI organization has carried out the incident. According to the information, Abhishek Srivastava was going from home to Piparwar coal siding in his car. Meanwhile, near Asthapuram, criminals targeted and shot him and fled from there.
