In a significant move towards making Ayodhya and its surroundings a liquor-free zone, Excise Minister Nitin Agarwal declared that there would be a complete ban on the sale of liquor within the radius of Panch Kosi Parikrama area in Ram Nagari.

The announcement was made after a meeting with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust general secretary Champat Rai, during which discussions were held on ensuring prohibition on the sale of alcohol in the vicinity of the upcoming Ram temple.

The state excise minister emphasised the removal of all liquor shops within the stipulated radius, outlining the government’s commitment to creating an atmosphere of sanctity and reverence around the sacred Ram temple.

The decision reflects a concerted effort to align the region’s surroundings with the spiritual significance of the upcoming consecration of Ram Lalla.

The Panch Kosi Parikrama area, encompassing the sacred pilgrimage path, has been officially declared an alcohol-prohibited zone. This move is in line with the broader preparations for the consecration of Ram Lalla, a momentous event that has garnered attention not only from across the country but also on an international scale.

As Ayodhya gears up for the historic consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla, preparations are in full swing, drawing state ministers, high-ranking officials and dignitaries to the sacred city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on December 30, ahead of the consecration, to inaugurate Shri Ram Airport. The occasion is expected to mark a pivotal moment in history, and the double-engine government has spared no effort to ensure the event’s grandeur.

“The decision to implement a complete ban on liquor sales within the Panch Kosi radius is part of the broader vision to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the Dwapar Yuga even in the contemporary era of Kaliyuga. The move aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering an environment of purity and spirituality, befitting the sacredness of Ayodhya and the monumental consecration of Ram Lalla,” Agarwal said.
