Manipal Tata Medical College: Allotment of NCC platoon signals milestone in National Service

Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), a distinguished medical institution in Jamshedpur,  announced its historic achievement as the first medical college in Jharkhand to secure the allotment of a platoon comprising 54 cadets for Service Division (SD) and Special Weapons (SW) training. This initiative is conducted under the Fully Self-Financing Scheme (FSFS) and falls under the purview of the controlling unit, 37 Jhar Bn NCC, Jamshedpur.

The allocation of cadets for military training marks a monumental stride in fostering a culture of national service and preparedness within the academic sphere of MTMC. The selected cadets will undergo rigorous training encompassing leadership, discipline, and various military skills, positioning them to contribute meaningfully to society during times of need.

Expressing enthusiasm about this development, Dr. Rajiva Dwivedi, Director of Academic Administration and Quality at MTMC, commented, "We are thrilled to welcome the (SD/SW) cadets from MTMC to the 37 Jhar Bn NCC. NCC training will undoubtedly enrich their academic experience, instilling in them essential qualities such as leadership, teamwork, and a deep commitment to serving the nation. We have full confidence that these cadets will emerge as future leaders in their chosen fields, making substantial contributions to both their professions and the NCC."

The allotment process will adhere to NCC guidelines, with selected cadets organized into platoons under the guidance of dedicated NCC officers. Their training curriculum will cover drill exercises, map reading, weapon handling, first aid, and disaster management, providing them with a comprehensive skill set for future endeavors.

The inaugural batch of cadets is expected to commence their training on 01st April 2024. MTMC pledges unwavering support, ensuring the necessary resources are provided to guarantee the success of the cadets in this prestigious program.
