Marandi urges Guv to save Constitutional System becoming a joke

Wednesday, 03 January 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today again launched a big attack on Hemant government and said that today the criminals, brokers and middlemen are fearless in the state.

He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is continuously doing unconstitutional work. Now he feels that it is certain that he will go to jail, hence the party MLA wants to get Sarfaraz Ahmed to resign from the Assembly and make his wife the Chief Minister. He also knows that his wife cannot become MLA from a reserved seat. The High Court has ruled that daughters-in-law from outside the state cannot avail the facility of reservation in Jharkhand.

Further, he drew the attention of the Governor towards the decision of Maharashtra High Court, Nagpur Bench and said that if the matter of forming a new government or changing the Chief Minister comes before him on behalf of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, then he insists that the Attorney General, or definitely take advice in this regard from a senior jurist.

He said that the responsibility of protecting the constitutional system is in the hands of the Governor. The decision of the Nagpur Bench of the Maharashtra High Court has ruled on the period for holding bye-elections on the vacant seat. In the situation of Jharkhand, now the tenure of the Assembly is less than one year left. In such a situation, by-elections cannot be held on the vacated seat.

He said that in such a situation, only the Governor can save the constitutional system from becoming a mockery.

On the increasing morale of criminals in the state, Marandi said that now criminals are threatening the editor of a big newspaper from jail. This is a serious matter. The one who threatened from jail is none other than Yogendra Tiwari of Dumka, Yogendra Tiwari has a deep connection with Shibu Soren. Even today, the registry deed of half of the land of Shibu Soren's huge house in Khajuria, Dumka belongs to Yogendra Tiwari & Company.

He said that such heinous criminals should have been sent out, but they have deep relations with the Chief Minister. They exercise power from jail. They get transfer postings done as per their wish and get them stopped.

Recalling the recent large-scale transfers of DSPs and their subsequent postponement, he said that being a former Chief Minister, he knows the process of transfer. If the decisions of the file signed by the Chief Minister, Home Minister and DGP of the state are not implemented, then it can be understood that someone else is wielding the power. He said that such people have the protection of the Chief Minister.

He said that many times he requested the government for investigation related to corruption and wrote letters. But the Chief Minister is giving clean chit to the officials by getting a judicial inquiry done. He said that the CM only wants to hush up the cases like this. If you have courage, then get the investigation done by honest police officers of the state like Murarilal Meena, Anil Palta. Their fact finding will reveal the truth.
