A youth, who was in love with a married policewoman, ended his life by consuming poison following the latter rejecting his overtures in Sambalpur district.The deceased was identified as Naveen Sharma, a resident of Bada Bazaar area under the Khetrajpur police station in the district. Naveen took the extreme step on premises of the Town police station on Tuesday. According to reports, Naveen was in love with a woman traffic constable and had proposed to her several times. Even though the woman was married, he was stalking her from 2012. The woman cop had lodged multiple complaints against him with police, including one on Tuesday. On the fateful day, he followed the woman and again proposed to her, but when she again refused, he consumed poison. Immediately, he was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. But as his condition worsened, he was referred to the VIMSAR in Burla. However, he succumbed on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment.
