Signaling control over the second wave of COVID-19, no fresh infection was reported from as many as 67 of the total 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.
Also, of the over 1.64 lakh samples tested for coronavirus infection, only 20 tested positive. High recoveries and a low number of new COVID-19 cases have brought down active caseload in the state to 107.
Even as UP’s own active COVID-19 cases continue to hover around the 100 mark, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that everyone coming to the state from other states, especially from Kerala and Maharashtra and also foreign countries, was tested for novel coronavirus infection.
Meanwhile, as many as 39 districts of UP, namely Agra, Aligarh, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Budaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Etawah, Firozabad, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur and Unnao reported zero cases of the deadly viral infection.
