A huge crowd gathered at the ancestral home of Vishnu Deo Sai in Bagiya village in Jashpur district to watch him being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.
A large LED screen had been installed to broadcast the ceremony.
The elders of the village said they were overjoyed about his appointment.
"It is a huge matter of pride for us that a son of our village has become the Chief Minister," one of them said.
