Under the guidance of honorary secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch, Bibhuti Bhusan Pattnaik and direct supervision of Junior Red Cross Officer Laxman Swain, nine Junior Red Cross volunteers and two counsellors joined a Red Cross Inter-State Camp at Kurukshetra, Haryana. The camp was organised from December 24 to 30 in which about 10 States had participated.
Odisha Red Cross took part in different competitions and bagged the highest number of awards and brought pride for Odisha. The unit stood first in exhibition and quiz and received the Best lady Counsellor, Best Female Coordination awards. It stood second in solo dance, group dance, skit dance, Rangoli, lucky star and third in extempore speech. Two counselors were also awarded for their best coordination. JRC volunteers from Gajapati, Sasmita Sabar, Mamuni Raita, Punyabati Raita, Sibani Raika, Sanjukta Raita and Arati Karjee, from Baleswar, Sruti Priyadarshini, from Kendrapara, Swatismita Nayak and from Nabarangpur district Chidanada Muduli joined the camp. Two JRC Counsellors Lipika Bhanj and Prahlad Shial coordinated the team as guide teachers.
