An Ola cab driver was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified miscreants at Krishna Vihar in the Patrapada area of the capital city on Thursday night.
The abductors have demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from his wife.
As per a complaint lodged by the woman with the Khandagiri police, the miscreants kidnapped her husband Shankarshan Das at around 8 pm while he was present in front of his house.
The kidnappers thrashed Shankarshan and later made a video call to the woman showing her the injured victim. They demanded Rs 10 lakh from the woman to release her husband. She has sent Rs 2 lakh to the miscreants through internet banking.
Police started an investigation into the incident while efforts were on by cops to rescue the victim and nab the kidnappers.
