Property worth around Rs 130 crore of former Samajwadi Party MLA Deep Narayan Singh Yadav was seized under the Gangsters Act in Jhansi district on Monday. Yadav is considered close to SP president Akhilesh Yadav.

The former MLA has been in prison for the last two months on the charges of conspiring to release notorious criminal Lekhraj Singh Yadav from jail. According to police, more than 50 cases have been filed against him.

Meanwhile, immovable property worth Rs 10.92 crore of former MLA Vijay Mishra was attached by police on Tuesday. The action was taken in the Lalganj tehsil of Mirzapur. Reports said that 26-bigha land was attached. According to police, Vijay Mishra had taken the land in the name of his son, daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law’s father. The action was taken on the orders of Bhadohi District Magistrate under the Gangster Act. Many criminal cases are registered against Vijay Mishra who is in jail.

Meanwhile, five people were arrested for violating traffic norms as all of them were seen in a viral video riding on a single motorcycle, police said on Tuesday. According to police, a challan of Rs 6,500 was issued against the accused under the Motor Vehicles Act. Police also charged them with disturbing the peace. They were produced in court and sent to jail. 

SP (Traffic) Ashoke Kumar said, “A video went viral on social media in which five people were seen riding a motorcycle in Kotwali police station limits. The number plate of the motorcycle was visible. The identification was done and action taken. The motorcycle was impounded and the accused arrested.”
