In a poignant tribute to the martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh, Sahibzada Fateh Singh, and Mata Gujri Ji, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced a humble initiative during the Shaheedi Sabha on December 27. ‘Mourning Notes’ will resonate from 10 am to 10:10 am on Wednesday, marking a solemn remembrance of the unparalleled sacrifice of the younger Sahibzadas.
During a comprehensive meeting with the Fatehgarh Sahib District Administration to assess the Shaheedi Sabha arrangements, the Chief Minister emphasized that the mourning notes played for 10 minutes, symbolize respect for the martyred young Sahibzadas.
Mann urged everyone, regardless of their location, to stand and bow in homage to the extraordinary sacrifice.
This unique initiative aims to raise awareness, particularly among the youth and children, about the remarkable martyrdom of the younger sahibzadas.
Chief Minister stressed the significance of commemorating their sacrifice to reinforce values of human rights. He praised the unparalleled sacrifice of the younger sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Kaur Ji, considering it unprecedented in global history.
Highlighting the pride that Punjab and the world take in this unique sacrifice, Mann noted the historical sacrifices inspired by revered figures like Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. “The history of Punjab is replete with countless sacrifices that had derived inspiration from our great Gurus who laid down their lives for the sake of mankind,” he said.
Stating that the month of December, in which the entire family of the Sikhs’ tenth master, Guru Gobind Singh, was martyred, is a month of mourning for humanity, Mann said that the State Government has already declared a prohibition on celebrating any joyous functions from December 20 to 30.
Expressing this initiative as a humble tribute, the Chief Minister declared it a mark of respect from the State Government for the supreme sacrifice of the Guru's family. He emphasized that Fatehgarh Sahib, a holy land, inspires not only Sikhs but all of humanity, drawing lakhs of devotees annually to honour the martyrdom day of the younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji.
Reviewing preparations for the Shaheedi Sabha, Mann directed the District Administration to ensure ample arrangements, promising personal monitoring. A traffic system overhaul, help centers, a shuttle service, and designated parking areas have been established. Medical and information centers will provide essential services, underscoring the government's duty to facilitate a hassle-free experience for devotees.
The local administration has set up help centers to assist devotees from various locations promptly. Additionally, a shuttle bus service, comprising 75 buses and 50 e-rickshaws, has been established for the convenience of the devotees. The District Administration has also made proper parking arrangements with 21 designated locations across different sectors of the city for vehicle parking during the Shaheedi Sabha.
Adequate transportation arrangements have been put in place. Medical centers are also operational, offering health services to the devotees. Likewise, information centers have been established by the administration to provide the devotees with necessary information.
Chief Minister assured that the State Government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a seamless and reverent experience for every devotee visiting the holy shrine during the Shaheedi Sabha.
