Congress and AAP should refrain from taking credit of Centre’s work: Lekhi

Chandigarh:  The Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakshi Lekhi on Sunday said that the Congress and AAP need to refrain from the deceit of taking credit in Punjab and Delhi respectively for “ projects” which have been funded by the Central Government. Addressing a press conference here, Lekhi who is a two-time Member Parliament said that “major restoration work to restore the heritage buildings like Jallianwala Bagh, Durgiana Temple Plaza walk, Rambagh Deorhi, Qila Ahluwalia, and famous heritage walk have been funded by Central Government. She said that the Kartarpur corridor is an initiative of BJP. After Independence the sentiments of the Punjabis was considered and Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated Rs 120 crore for the project from Dera Baba  Nanak in Gurdaspur to Kartarpur Sahib, she added.

Kejriwal's Delhi model is based on lies and fraud: Srinivas

Chandigarh: All India Youth Congress President Srinivas BV on Sunday said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party are spreading lies and deception in Punjab by stating false reality of the Delhi model.  While addressing a press conference here, Srinivas said that the Delhi model being presented by AAP is a model of lies and deception. This is a model in which about Rs 490 crore was spent by Kejriwal for his self promotion. The Congress leader said neither bed nor oxygen cylinders were available for the people in Delhi during the Corona second wave. In Delhi, people had to be admitted to a private hospital due to lack of space in the government hospitals, whereas people got good treatment in government hospitals in Punjab. Even the migrants were forced to migrate from Delhi, he added.

Former MLA quit Congress

Ludhiana: In another jolt to Congress in Ludhiana, former MLA from Qila Raipur and prominent businessman Jassi Khangura resigned from the party on Sunday. In his resignation letter addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Khangura didn't state any reason for his decision. He posted the letter on Twitter and said, "The decisions we take determine our fate. My resignation from INC, the only Indian political party I have ever been a member of." As per Khangura's letter, his father, who was associated with Congress for 60 years, has also resigned. Khangura wanted a ticket from either Sahnewal or Amargarh constituencies but as the Congress party has fielded other candidates from both seats, Khangura resigned, sources said.
