In a spectacular display of athleticism and precision, Indian Railways emerged victorious in the Senior Artistic Gymnastics Championship held at the Kalinga Stadium here.
The team showcased exceptional skill and determination, securing team champion titles in both men's and women's categories, earning them well-deserved gold medals.
After 12 years, the men's artistic gymnastics team reclaimed their championship glory, finishing with a remarkable score of 293.00. The women's artistic gymnastics team showcased their prowess with a score of 182.60, reinforcing Indian Railways' dominance in the gymnastics arena.
Individual excellence shone through in the Vault Table event, with standout performances from notable athletes. Pranati Nayak, a Tokyo Olympian proudly representing Indian Railways, secured a gold medal while Deepa Karmakar, a Rio Olympian from Tripura, clinched the silver, while Protistah Samanta of Indian Railways proudly earned the bronze.
Suvendra Kumar Patra was nominated as coach of Indian Railways team.
The medal ceremony was graced by chief guests Ajay Kumar Samal, general secretary, East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA), Prakhar Gupta, Joint general secretary, ECoRSA and Ashoka Kumar Mishra, CPRO.
