State Governor Raghubar Das visited the famous Shaivite centre of pilgrimage, the Singhanath temple of Badamba on Thursday morning and was excited to see the surrounding natural beauty of the shrine.
The temple is located on an island in the Mahanadi river near Gopinathpur village of Badamba and connected through the T-bridge from the landmass.
He heard the history of the temple from the servitors for a while. Then he proceeded to Mohan Subudhi College of Badamba to attend the Annual function and "NuA-O " programme as the chief guest.
Principal Dr Suchismita Mohanty welcomed the Governor to the dais. Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab and Badamba-Narsinghpur MLA Debi Prasad Mishra were on the dais as chief speaker and distinguished guests respectively.
The Governor appreciated the role of women telling that the principal here is a lady member and the number of girls students here is much more than the boys.
He advised the students to read sincerely to develop mental ability and do yoga and exercise atleast for half an hour per day to make their body fit and fine.
He also eulogised the new education policy taken by the Government and said that Artificial Intelligence is now it's tools for transformation.
Later the Governor along with MLA Debi Prasad Mishra and Cuttack DM Narahari Sethi visited Avimanpur-Birabarpur Cluster and WCS and interacted with the weavers.
