A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a request to the people to not attend the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on 22 January, Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson and Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has questioned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over inviting the upcoming event. Bhardwaj said the Ram Temple belongs to the whole country and who is the BJP to decide who to invite and who to leave out? He said the people will go whenever they want to.
Reacting over Bhardwaj’s statement, Delhi BJP leaders said it is sad to see Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj creating controversy over invites for Shri Ram Mandir consecration ceremony at Ayodhya on 22nd January.
Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that thye AAP MLA and his party Aam Aadmi Party like most other opposition parties on record opposed to Shri Ram Mandir’s construction till 4 years back and it is surprising to see that leaders of these parties are today creating controversy over invites for consecration ceremony.
The Delhi BJP Spokesperson said that Saurabh Bhardwaj statement smacks of political frustration and we wish to remind Bhardwaj that it is not BJP but Shri Ram Janam Bhumi Kshetra Trust which is inviting eminent personalities including political leaders.
Kapoor said that Bhardwaj should know this as Shri Ram Janam Bhumi Kshetra Trust office is located in his own assembly constituency Greater Kailash but unfortunately Bhardwaj & his Party who have made no positive contribution for Shri Ram Mandir construction are now trying to project themselves as Ram Bhakts.
