SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) won the All India Inter-Steel Chess Championship 2023-24 held under the aegis of Steel Plants Sports Board (SPSB) at Bhilai. The team RSP received the trophy from . Anirban Dasgupta, DIC (BSP) who graced the valedictory function as the Chief Guest. Notably More than 50 participants from RINL, RSP, Durgapur Steel Plant, TATA Steel, Bhilai Steel Plant, ISP, SALEM and Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant participated in the event.
The match was played in Round Robin League format in seven rounds in which RSP took the lead over Tata Steel by 2.5-1.5 points in a direct encounter. The team comprised .
