There is a strong need to review empanelled health care providers (EHCPs) in Palamu for Ayushman Bharat Yojna, said sources. There are 17 private empanelled health care providers in Palamu in addition to the MMCH Daltonganj and ten community health centres.
A good number of these empanelled health care providers boast of speciality services but the ground reality is that it lacks the minimum basic medical facilities.
Sources said if the condition of the EHCPs is to be scrutinised, then many skeletons will be found rolling down from their cupboards.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India in its audit report number 11/23 has cited leakages in services in the EHCPs in Jharkhand.
The audit report has cited absence of speciality coverage where it is boasted of earlier.
Beneficiaries were forced to have 'out of pocket expenditures' when this Ayushman Bharat Yojna could have been met with the provisions as laid in the Ayushman Bharat Yojna.
Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said "We keep tracking and monitoring the EHCPs. It will be intensified. All such empanelled health care providers have been instructed to extend due medical treatment and care to beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat."
